My first beagle was purchased from Jill Kirk, Balihai Beagles. Aggro, Balihai Black Perfectus, was a true introduction to the breed, while he was a young pup he was able to come to work with me, when I changed jobs he was unable to attend work and made his point that he was not happy, every day he was left home. My prefix DELGAEB, came from Aggro, I went away for a weekend and had a friend house sit, she rang me and told me that my flat had been trashed and she thought I had been robbed. I laughed and explained that I had not in fact been a burgler but a Beagle so I had been Beagled, this backwards was the start of my prefix and love of the breed. Aggro was purchased as a show dog but this was not his forte. He gained a few challenge points but not enough to title and I retired him when he was too, he remained as part of our family until he got a cancer tumor that ended his life at 16.
My next beagle was Australian Champion Balihai Talked About Lady - DJ. DJ was also purchased from Jill Kirk and had the same mother as Aggro. They had a great bond and were often together curled up in bed, lying in the sun or in front of the fire. DJ was boss of our pack from the moment I brought her home at 5 months. She was a great show dog and titled easily, she won many in group and in show awards, she was fun to show and loved to be the centre of attention. DJ had two litters and was retired from the show ring. She also died of cancer in 2006 at 14.

I took a break from showing beagles for a few years and showed Dalmatians, I found this an extremely hard breed due to the deafness in the litters and the rules of the club for having to put down deaf pups. Deafness is extremely common in Dallies and in two litters we had three pups that were deaf. We obeyed the rules and had Major put to sleep at 6 weeks, when I got 2 deaf boys in my next litter I decided that I was not going to put them down and they still live with us and believe they are beagles. I did produced a
RUBISS winning Dalmatian owned, loved and shown by Alison
CH Delgaeb Happy Birthday. Teava was born on Alison's birthday and was aptly named as she was to be her birthday present from before her birth.
After 5 years of waiting for another show beagle Norma Shipley of Filnor Beagles rang me and said she had a tan and white beagle for me if I was interested. This brought Riley
Australian Champion Filnor Telltale to our pack. Riley was a beagle with Attitude Plus. If she did not want to do something nothing could make her change her mind. Before Riley had her own litter she helped with a litter of Dalmatian pups and was quite convinced that they were her own. Riley also featured on the cover of a magazine at 4 months Dogs Life and was also on cans of Natures Gift for many years.
My next beagle also came from Norma Shipley. She sent down two boys for me to chose one and return one to her Harley & Davidson were very similar but Davey
Australian Champion Filnor Harvester soon caught my heart and he was the boy who stayed with us. His brother went back to Norma and he is also an Australian Champion. Davey is my pride and joy and has been Pack Leader at the hunts for many years, he loves hunting and can be heard giving voice at the hunts by all who attend. He titled easily at got Best of Breed at his first show where he was old enough to get points, he got 5 Best Baby in Groups and 2 Best Baby in shows. Davey loved to show off and loved to show for about two and a half years then he got bored he has been retired to stud work and hunting and being a couch potato. Davey loves to carry two things in his mouth - usually two balls but I have seen him with four at the most. If he gets a biscuit he has to have two even if this means breaking his biscuit into two pieces as long as he gets two he is happy. Davey is the sire of several litters and three Champion offspring, Mal CH Delgaeb Destined to Be at budveron, Aust CH Trihound Memories Of, and Aust CH Bayzurk Full Moonsettin, (D & R Kruz)

Riley & Davey were mated and produced a litter of 5 boys and 1 girl, Hunter was shown for a while here before he was exported to Dr Jonathan Ng in Malaysia where he gained his Malaysian Championship title
Mal CH Delgaeb Destined to be at Budveron has sired several litters for Jonathan and has produced several Malaysian Champions.
My next beagle is a daughter of Davey, Memo
Australian Champion Trihound Memories Of. Memo took over as boss when DJ decided that it was just too much work to be in control. Memo was bred by Kylie & David Marsh of Wangaratta and was hard work to show. I would be able to tell as I took her into the ring from the look she gave me if it was going to be a good day or a waste of time. I recall her on a naughty day looking at me and standing in front of the judge with her feet in a perfect ballet position lovely out-pointed feet, the look on her face said to me " I told you I did not want to do this today,"
